Welcome to the Slackline Community Page!
Slacklining, like all other sports, has its own community of people
participating. We're all out there having fun and spreading the
slackline revolution. We here at slackline.com and in partnership with Slackline Brothers want to promote
slacklining through this COMMUNITY WEBSITE. We want everyone to be able
to share stories, pictures, beta etc. so please join in!

*** Damian Cooksey has set yet another World Record for the longest slackline - 506 feet (154.2 meters)!!! Read More!
*** Crhistian Schou of Norway has set a highline at 1000 meters (3300 feet). Sending 5 times and whipping 2. In Kerag, Norway. Making this the highest highline so far in the world.
Our Mecca, Lost Arow Spire in Yosemite, California held this honor at 2700 feet since first walked by Scott Balcom.

Slackline Firsts!
*On July 17th, 2007, Libby Sauter became the
first woman in the world to walk across the highline at the Lost Arrow Spire
in Yosemite National Park.
* First, World's Longest slackline ever walked was set up on
March 4th, 2007, at Pole Mokotoskie in Warsaw Poland. The line measured 405.5 feet (123.5 meters) and
it was rigged and walked by Damian Cooksey with assistance
from fellow slacker friends. It took 20 people to tighten that
line. This is a first and a world record.
* POLISH SLACKLINE OPEN.
This first of its kind event in Europe. The competition took
place on 3rd March 2007 . The
venue gave it an extra attractiveness. The sport, that comes from
mountain hights, usually inaccessible for many spectators, soon took
take place in the grand hall of the Blue City Shopping Centre in
Warsaw.

* LAS Highline onsight first honors belong to very
inspiring young Wes Ellis who came up the trail resolved and with
the required loaf of bread. He stepped onto the spire after also
lighlty bouncng and standing side ways and looking down! if only for
what was only fractions of seconds in real time! Also never done on a
highline before!
* Darrin Carter aka "Highwalker" is the first slackline master to solo
a highline. He walked across the LAS Classic Line unleashed. He too is
credited for carrying the highline torch for the years that followed.
Keeping the dream alive and passing the mantle to the next generation of
highliners!
* Slackldaddy elias Scott Balcom
was the first person to walk a highline across the abiss between the
Lost Arrow Spire and the valley rim in Yosemite, California. He also published the first book on slackline " Walk the line". http://www.slackline.net
* First Urban Highline: 134 Freeway bridge arches, Pasadena, California.
Scott Balcon, Chris Carpenter, Darrin Carter and Ric rigged
and pushed the boundries of balance. Most notably Scott in
preparation for his quest to walk the Lost Arrow Spire.

is a forum where a discussion is being had about slackline etiquete and
access to public spaces such as parks, beaches,and camp grounds for
slacklining. And for Self regulation for recognition of Slackers as a
user group.

Slackline Clubs are springing up in colleges and universities all over
the country. Young slackers recognize Slackline as a perfect metaphor
for life, and are speaking out bringing attention to issues such as the
enviornment and of making better choices and leaving a smaller foot
print. Such is the case of the Outdoor Equilibrium Slackline Club at
